An Email A Day...

Setting: Early evening. Near the computer.

Characters:
Kim: The Girl.
Carrie Bradshaw: Fluffy. Somewhere around 5 or 6.
Nina: Jack russell. Definitely 16  and a few months. 










Kim is typing.

Nina: (perturbed) NOW what are you typing?

Carrie Bradshaw: (intently watching Kim; to Nina) She's emailing the vet.

Nina: (sputters) Dammit! NOW what did I do??

Kim: Relax. I thought it was cute how you were trying so hard to jump up onto the bed. You hadn't tried that in over six months. You're getting your strength back. This is good. (keeps typing)

Carrie Bradshaw: (already sitting on the bed; haughty) You'll never make it up here though. I can. But YOU can't.

Nina: (shivering) CAN it, Fluffy! It could happen- you never know- watch...

Nina starts to hop up and down trying to get on the bed. Her short legs betray her.

Carrie Bradshaw: See?

Nina: Dammit! (frets)

Kim: (stops typing for a moment) Aww,... here lemme help.

Kim lifts Nina onto the bed. Nina smirks. Carrie is unimpressed.

Nina: 'Nyeeah.

Carrie Bradshaw:  Cheater.

Kim: (typing out loud) "I have to help her up since she'd never be able to make it on her own. Plus I don't want her over-exerting herself and having another seizure. Yours Truly, Kim."

Nina: Seeee "Fluffy"?? I can't have another seizure. (starts to scratch out a spot on the blanket)

Carrie Bradshaw: Hmm, seashores aren't fun I suppose. (whispers) But who's "Kim"?? And why did the Girl sign the email like that?

Nina: (yawns) Beats me. Maybe it's someone the Girl knows.

Carrie Bradshaw: (curling up next to Nina) Maybe. (whispers) I like our Girl, but what is her name??

Fade as the two fur balls drift off to sleep....
