A Little Appreciation Goes a Long Way...

Setting: Kona.

Characters:
Kim: Pays rent. Buys groceries.
Nina: Jack russell. Constantly reviewing the situation.
Carrie Bradshaw: White fluffy dog. In her own world.

Carrie Bradshaw: I'm hungry.

Kim: Had you eaten your dinner we wouldn't be having this conversation.

Nina: Ha!

Carrie Bradshaw: Rude.

Nina: I ate mine. I'm satisfied.

Carrie Bradshaw: Yes, but I didn't like what was on the menu.

Nina: (indignant) There are starving dogs in China.

Kim: (to Nina; amused) Oh really.

Nina: She needs to be more appreciative.

Kim: I won't argue with you on that.

Carrie Bradshaw: (tries to appear indignant; comes across as fluffy instead) I DO TOO depreciate.

Nina: (toddles off) Need I say more.

Kim: (to Nina) YOU found her.

Nina: (stops; beat) Dammit!

*Nina wanders off aimlessly clearly annoyed with this reminder...

Carrie Bradshaw: (to Kim) I'm hungry.

Kim: (sigh) Fine. Let's go find something for you to eat...

Carrie Bradshaw: (whispers to Kim) By the way, for the record, I appreciate too.

*Kim stops, looks at the fluffy white thing at her feet, staring up at her adoringly...

Kim: (smiles) Yeah, I know.

*Fade out as they head into the kitchen

*Please refer to the introduction post in this blog for explanation and inspiration behind  this blog. As Nina gets older, she develops various medical problems; the more carefully I listen to what she tries to tell me, the more I can explain to the vet what is happening. And Carrie Bradshaw simply goes by her full name.
