This Had Better Be Good....

Setting: Midnight.


Characters:
Kim: The Girl. Asleep.
Nina: The jack russell. Awake apparently.
Carrie Bradshaw: Bichon poodle mix. Sleepy.




Nina: (nudges Kim) Pst.

Nothing.

Nina: Pst. (beat) Hey! Girl! You awake?

Kim pretends to stay asleep...

Carrie Bradshaw: (to Nina) Do this. (puts paw on Kim's face)

Kim: (sputters) Carrie!

Nina: (ears perked) There it is! Can we go out?

Carrie Bradshaw: (yawns) I'm good. You two go on without me.

Kim: (opens sliding glass door) Hurry up.

Nina just stands there on the grass...

Nina: (finally) Ever go into a room and forget why you went in there in the first place?

Kim: (seething) Hurry up!

Nina: (sniffs grass) Remember those drills in school where you had to evacuate the building but nothing ever happened? Yeah.  One of those. (sits on grass) You know, I've been thinking- NO NO NO WAIT!

Kim scoops up the jack russell...

Kim: Next time you decide to wake me at midnight there had BETTER be a reason.

Nina: Put me down! I am the jack russell! (squirms)

Kim plops her on bed, locks sliding glass door.

Carrie Bradshaw: (opens one eye) Told you.

Nina: (sulks) Quiet Fluffy!

Fade as Kim attempts sleep again,...Carrie Bradshaw snoozes and Nina sulks...
