How many people does it take to pop corn?

Setting: Kona. Evening. After movie night.

Characters:

Kim: Tired. 

Nina: Jack russell. Tired of Kim.
Carrie Bradshaw: Never tires.

     Kim enters, returning from working a movie night at a local school

Nina: (seeing the look on Kim's face) Wha' happened.

Carrie Bradshaw: (attentive) 'Splain.

Kim: It went fine. Thanks for asking. (sits)

Nina: Mmhmm.

Kim: (sigh) You win. The popcorn popper took forever to start.

Nina:  My question stands. What happened?

Kim: After four of us came to the conclusion that the "stoopid" thing was broken, a fifth came along...-

Carrie Bradshaw: (on the edge of her furry seat) And??

Kim: (beat) And plugged in the heating unit.

Nina: (stalks off) It's a wonder I've made it this far...

     *Fade out...
